CareRight is not the NHS. CareRight is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the NHS, NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care, or any NHS trust or integrated care board.
CareRight provides general information about patient rights and NHS waiting times. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Nothing on this site should be used as a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Always consult your GP, consultant, or another suitably qualified clinician about your health and treatment. If you have a medical emergency, call 999. For urgent medical concerns, call NHS 111.
Information about your rights under the NHS Constitution, the Patient Rights (Scotland) Act 2011, NHS Wales, and related legislation is provided for general guidance only. It is not legal advice and does not create a solicitor–client relationship. Rights and procedures change and may apply differently to your circumstances. For advice on your specific situation, consult a qualified solicitor or a free advice service such as Citizens Advice.
Waiting time figures shown in CareRight are taken from publicly available NHS England Referral to Treatment (RTT) statistics, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Do not make decisions about your healthcare based solely on CareRight. Confirm current waiting times directly with the relevant NHS trust and discuss any change of provider with your GP.
CareRight uses artificial intelligence to help draft letters and answer questions. AI can make mistakes, including stating information that is incorrect or out of date. Always read, check, and edit anything generated before relying on or sending it. You are responsible for the content of any letter you send.
CareRight is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareRight and its operators accept no liability for any loss or harm arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or its content.
The information in CareRight is based on the following official public sources. We encourage you to read them directly:
This policy explains how CareRight handles information when you use the site. We have written it to be as plain as possible.
The short version: The details you type into CareRight (your condition, region, weeks waited, name) are used in your browser to build your rights profile and to generate letters. We aim to keep data collection to the absolute minimum and we never sell your data.
CareRight ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data processed through this site. You can contact us at: harshsingh.analyst@gmail.com.
Information you enter. To use the tools, you may enter your name, NHS specialty/condition, region, weeks waited, referral date, and GP practice name. Information about your health is "special category" data under UK GDPR and is treated with extra care.
Information sent to our AI provider. When you use the AI Advisor or Letter Generator, the text of your request is sent to our AI processor (Anthropic) to generate a response. Do not enter information you do not wish to be processed for this purpose.
Basic technical data. Like most websites, our host may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the service running.
Where you enter information to use a tool, our legal basis is your consent, and — for health information — your explicit consent, given by choosing to enter it. You can withdraw at any time by stopping use of the tool and clearing your browser. Our basis for minimal security logging is our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
Information you enter into the on-page tools is processed in your browser session. We do not operate a user-account database for this service. Requests sent to our AI provider are handled under that provider's data terms. Any security logs kept by our host are retained only as long as needed for security.
We use Anthropic as our AI processor. Your request text is processed to generate your response. We do not use your inputs to train AI models. See Anthropic's privacy terms at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these, contact us at the email above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
CareRight aims to use only what is strictly necessary to make the site work. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If we add privacy-friendly analytics in future, we will update this policy.
CareRight is intended for adults managing their own or a dependant's NHS care. It is not directed at children.
By using CareRight you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
CareRight is a free, independent information tool to help people in the UK understand their rights as NHS patients, view publicly available waiting time data, and draft letters. It is an information service only — see our Disclaimer.
We work to keep information accurate and current, but we make no guarantee that it is complete, correct, or up to date. Waiting time data reflects a past period and may not match current waits. Rights and procedures may change.
CareRight relies on third-party services (such as our AI provider and hosting). We are not responsible for those services' availability or actions, which are governed by their own terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareRight and its operators are not liable for any loss or harm arising from use of, or reliance on, the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales (or Scotland where applicable to Scottish users).
